GHS Gia, Leh, December 6 — Government High School (GHS) Gia celebrated its Annual-cum-Parents’ Day with enthusiasm and community participation on Saturday. The event was graced by Ms. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Secretary of School Education, UT Ladakh, who presided as the Chief Guest.
The celebration witnessed the presence of Dy. CEO Karu; former Councillor Igoo, Ms. Khalida Parveen; Goba of Gia village, Mr. Sonam Thardot; school faculty; students; parents; and hundreds of villagers.
The programme commenced with the Chief Guest inaugurating the newly constructed solarized staff quarters built under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
Headmaster Mr. Jamyang Tsering welcomed the gathering, presented traditional khataks to dignitaries, and delivered the annual school report.
Addressing the audience, Ms. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, commended the school for its steady progress and ongoing initiatives. She also assured continued departmental support to further strengthen the school’s academic and infrastructural standards.
During the event, dignitaries distributed prizes and special awards, including a newly introduced category honouring exceptional student performers.
The celebration concluded with a colourful cultural programme presented by students, highlighting the vibrant talent and cultural richness of the school community.
