Zanskar: The Geology Department of Government Degree College, Zanskar organized a daylong engaging geological tour to Zangla the other day for its 6th semester students.
It was aimed to provide experiential learning and deepen their understanding about the geology of the region.
Students explored flood-affected areas, landslide-prone zones along the Zanskar-Leh Road, and key geological sites.
The tour was supervised by Syed Hashim faculty of Geology department.
The tour covered flood-impacted terrains and notable geological formations, offering hands-on learning about dynamic landscape of Zanskar.
Students also studied landslide-prone areas, including high-risk zones at Zangla where past events occurred due to steep slopes and seismic activity.
The trip deepened students understanding of geology and environmental challenges of Zanskar.
The Geology Department plans more such field visit to nurture the passion of students for the subject.
