Sankoo, October 13, 2025: The Department of Zoology, Government Degree College (GDC), Sankoo Campus, celebrated World Thrombosis Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and awareness on the causes, prevention, and treatment of thrombosis — a leading cause of mortality worldwide.
The event brought together faculty members, students, and health enthusiasts to deliberate on the importance of understanding thrombosis and its associated health risk factors.
The program began with a welcome address and opening remarks delivered by Dr. Fayaz Hussain (In-Charge Nodal Officer). In his address, Dr. Fayaz emphasized the importance of observing health awareness days and maintaining a balanced diet for a healthy lifestyle.
Following this, Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain (MBBS, MD – Physician), the esteemed guest speaker for the event, delivered an insightful and interactive session on thrombosis, its risk factors, and preventive measures. His talk was followed by a lively interactive session with both students and faculty members, making the event more engaging and informative.
The key objective of observing World Thrombosis Day was to spread awareness about this highly prevalent condition worldwide and to educate participants on identifying risk factors and adopting preventive strategies.
On this occasion, the organizers and faculty members expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain (Physician Specialist, CHC Sankoo) for his valuable presence and excellent presentation. They also extended special thanks to Dr. Fayaz Hussain, In-Charge Nodal Officer, GDC Sankoo Campus, for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and continuous encouragement of both academic and extracurricular initiatives on the campus.
The event concluded with an open question–answer session, during which students interacted with the guest speaker on various health-related issues, making the program both enlightening and impactful.
