GDC Khaltse observes National Sports Day 2023
Leh: Government Degree College, Khaltse commemorated the birth anniversary of the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and observed National Sports Day 2023 under the theme “Sports are an enabler to an inclusive and fit society” Tuesday.
Students of GDC, Khaltse participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The event was coordinated by College Director of Physical Education, Sonam Chosphail and Sports assisted by sports committee.
At the outset of the event, he highlighted the importance of observing National sports day to inculcate discipline and develop team work spirit.
The event envisaged competition under different categories such as 100 and 200m race, shot put and discuss throw.
Sonam Angmo, 5th semester; Dechen Dolkar, 5th semester and Padma Angmo, 3rd semester students , secured 1st , 2nd and 3rd position respectively in 100m and 200m races.
Similarly Padma Angmo, 3rd semester; Rigzin Angmo, 5th semester and Dechen Dolkar, 5th semester students secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in shot-put.
Further in discuss throw, Dechen Dolkar, 5th semester; Sonam Angmo 5th semester and Padma Angmo, 3rd semester students secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Principal GDC Khaltse, Stanzin Yangdol, congratulated the winners, participants and the organising committee to have conducted the event on National Sports Day. Later, position holders were felicitated with certificates.
