Kargil, November 27, 2025: Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil on Thursday successfully conducted the District-Level India Skills Competition 2025 in Graphic Designing Technology, providing young innovators a platform to demonstrate their creativity and technical abilities in one of the fastest-growing modern skill sectors.
The competition was inaugurated by Principal GDC Kargil, Disket Angmo, along with Dr. Javed Iqbal, UT Nodal Officer for Skill Courses, Higher Education Department Ladakh; Incharge Superintendent ITI Kargil, Skill Convenor of GDC Kargil, skill trainers, and participating students.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Javed Iqbal underlined the significance of the India Skills ecosystem and its role in nurturing talent at district, UT and national levels. He noted that GDC Kargil had participated in the 2024 edition in the same category and continues to progress with renewed commitment. He also informed that UT Ladakh is competing in three trades this year—Graphic Designing, Beauty Therapy and Fashion Technology, and briefed the students about the multi-stage selection process for India Skills.
In her address, Principal Disket Angmo praised the initiative as an important step in integrating education with industry-relevant skills. She commended the enthusiasm of student participants, stressing that taking part in such competitions marks the first step toward professional growth. She encouraged students to pursue excellence, build confidence and contribute meaningfully to Ladakh’s evolving skill landscape.
The event concluded with interactive sessions and evaluation of student submissions, reaffirming GDC Kargil’s commitment to promoting skill-based education and creating opportunities for youth to excel at the state and national platforms.
