Kargil: Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil organised a heartfelt farewell to honour 13 faculty members who have been transferred after years of dedicated service to the institution.
The outgoing staff included Razia Parveen, Rinchen Angmo, Jigmet, Thinles Chondol, Padma Wangchuk, Dr. Rinchen Tundup, Tsewang Gyaltson, Dr. (Lt.) Murtaza Ali, Murtaza (Librarian), Haider Askary, Zahoor Ahmad, Kunzang Dolma, and Nasir Shabani. Academic arrangement faculty members who completed their one-year tenure were also recognised for their contributions.
The programme featured emotional speeches and experience-sharing by the departing faculty, who expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation received from the Principal and colleagues.
Newly appointed Principal of GDC Drass, Prof. Nasir Shabani, extended his best wishes to all, urging them to strive for continuous growth and excellence in their careers.
Principal Disket Angmo praised the significant role the outgoing teachers played in strengthening the college’s academic standards and administration. She also highlighted their service as conveners and members of key institutional committees.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of traditional khataks by the Principal and a special token of appreciation to Prof. Shabani on his reinstatement as Principal of GDC Drass.
The event was coordinated by Staff Secretary Syed Mustafa Kamal with Mumtaz Ahmad and Dr. Abdul Hamid, and anchored by Mohd Raza.
