First Balti Research & Study Centre inaugurated at Kargil

KARGIL: In Ladakh, in a major development in the literary and research sector the First Balti Research and Study Centre was inaugurated by Famous Scholar and Author Kacho Asfindayar Khan Faridoon at Balti Manzil Balti Bazzar Kargil, initiated by President Association of Baltis for Himalaya and Territories of Indus, Bashir Ahmad Wafa.

On this occasion Padma Shri Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Educationist and Director Kargil Campus University of Ladakh Madame Kaneez Fatima, State Awardee Ghulam Ahmad Jawan, SE IFS&PHE Kargil Maqbool Husssain, Sardar Karan Singh President Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Kargil and other prominent Personalities.

Kacho Asfindiyar Khan Faridoon appreciated the initiative taken by Famous Poet Bashir Ahmad Wafa and said that such initiative will help the future generation to know about the Language, Culture and Tradition of the society as well as will help in preservation, revival and promotion of Languages.

He further said all the hands of Literary figures of Kargil will join together for helping Bashir Ahmad Wafa in future to continue his endeavour and struggle for the revival and preservation of Balti Language.

He later donated his books and many other books for the Research Centre. Sardar Karan Singh donated Rs 5000 for the centre and assured all possible help from his community.

Bashir Ahmad Wafa founder of the Centre while talking to the media said that in this era of globalization and Digital World, there is a growing threat to indigenous Languages with small user are at the verge of threat, which he got to know while interacting with the students and this has forced me to take this initiative.

He urged upon all the language and literature lovers to come forward to help him in this noble mission and is not restricted to Balti Language but will work on all the languages and fields.
