Fire & Fury Corps organize Veterans Rally in Leh

Leh: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson attended the Veterans Rally 2023 held at Rinchen Auditorium under the aegis of the Fire and Fury Corps.

Lt Governor Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) B D Mishra (Retd) was present as the chief guest of the occasion. Advisor, UT Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal; Chief of Staff, 14 Corps, Maj Gen Mokha; GOC, Leh Sub Area, 14Corps, Maj Gen SS Bakshi; Director, Sainik Welfare Board Ladakh, Col Lobzang Neema; Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Col Sonam Wangchuk President, Ex-Servicemen League, Sonam Motup; Naib Subedar, Chhering Motup (Ashok Chakra) were the other dignitaries and the guests.

A large number of decorated War Heroes, Ex-Servicemen, and Veer Naris also attended the Veterans Rally 2023.

Highlighting the role and contribution of the Indian Army in the protection and development of Ladakh-a strategically important place, CEC Gyalson extended heartfelt gratitude to the army. Lauding the selfless sacrifices of the brave martyrs, he also acknowledged the sacrifices of the Veer Naris and the families of the martyrs. Sharing the importance of prioritizing welfare measures for the Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris, CEC Gyalson recounted the initiatives undertaken by the Hill Council for their welfare, including 500 kanal of land earmarked for the ex-servicemen/veterans, financial support extended for welfare activities like community hall, development of War Heroes Colony, etc.

CEC Gyalson also mentioned the initiative of branding the insignia of Ladakh Scouts ‘Ibex’ for the homestays owned by the ex-servicemen, encapsulating a sense of quality and safety for the guests and the tourists.

He added that the UT Ladakh Administration and Hill Council are ever ready to extend support for the welfare and resolve the grievances of the Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, and the families of the martyred soldiers.
