Jaisalmer: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday inaugurated a series of major digital and welfare initiatives during the Army Commanders’ Conference (#ACC) at Jaisalmer, marking a significant step toward the Indian Army’s vision of a “Decade of Transformation.”
Among the highlights was the inauguration of Edge Data Centres for the Konark and Fire & Fury Corps, aimed at strengthening the Army’s digital infrastructure and operational readiness.
The new centres will enable faster, more secure, and low-latency data processing — enhancing real-time decision-making capabilities, particularly for high-altitude and sensitive operational zones like Ladakh, where the Fire & Fury Corps is based.
The Defence Minister also launched a modernised Equipment Help Line (EHL) portal, featuring AI-enabled maintenance support and real-time technical assistance for units across the country.
In another major move toward digitisation and welfare, the ‘Sainik Yatri Mitra’ App was unveiled, digitising the management of Defence Duty Quota seats across more than 1,200 trains through the ARMAAN platform. The app aims to ensure greater transparency and convenience for serving personnel during travel.
These initiatives, officials said, reflect the Army’s commitment to integrating digital solutions into its operational and administrative framework while simultaneously focusing on the welfare of its personnel.
The series of launches underlines the Army’s broader mission of digital transformation, operational excellence, and enhanced soldier welfare in the coming decade.
