The awards were presented by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, during a grand ceremony in New Delhi.

Facilitation was given to District Panchayat Officer, Junaid Amin Bhat along with Panchayat Secretaries, Ex-Sarpanches, and Ex- Panchayat Members from both the Sumoor and Khaltsi Panchayats for their outstanding contributions and tireless efforts in achieving the prestigious National Panchayat Awards 2022-23.

In his address, CEC Tashi Gyalson emphasized the importance of the awards, noting that the recognition of Sumoor and Khaltsi Panchayats serves as an inspiration for other Panchayats to follow suit in fostering effective governance.

CEC Gyalson remarked, “This recognition would not have been possible without the unwavering support and collective efforts of the council, administration, and the people on the ground. Both Panchayats have set a remarkable example in governance, and their achievements should inspire others to strive for excellence.”

The District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Junaid Amin Bhat, also expressed gratitude towards the council and administration, emphasizing that the National Panchayat Awards are highly competitive and two Panchayat Halqas begging the award is the testament of hardwork by people.

Khaltsi Councillor Lobzang Sherab and Tiger Councillor Regzin Lundup also shared their heartfelt thanks to the administration, council, and fellow Panchayat members. They emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving success and pledged to continue working towards even greater achievements in the future.
