Leh: Government of Ladakh union territory, General Administration Department (GAD) constituted Executive Committee (EC) for the conduct of Khelo India Winter Games 2024 in the UT.
As per an official order, “Sanction is hereby accorded for the Constitution of UT level Executive Committee (EC) for the conduct of Khelo India Winter Games, 2024 in UT Ladakh, scheduled to be held from 06-10 February, 2024 in UT of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.”
The composition of the Executive Committee (EC) of UT Ladakh is 24 Members headed by the Chairman. Advisor to Lt. Governor, UT Administration was appointed as its Chairperson, and Secretary (Sports), Government of India will be Co-Chairperson.
The Chairperson can include any officer, resource person, consultant, eminent Sportsperson in the above said committee.
Administrative Secretary, Finance Department, Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, Administrative Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Additional Director General of Police, Ladakh, Administrative Secretary, Higher Education, Administrative Secretary, Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department, Administrative Secretary, Youth Services & Sports Department, Administrative Secretary, Public Works Department, Administrative Secretary, General Administration Department, Administrative Secretary, Power Department, Administrative secretary, Transport Department, Representative from Sports Authority of India, New Delhi / Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Director, Housing and Urban Development Ladakh, Director, Fire & Emergency Services, Ladakh, Deputy Director General, Door Darshan, State/UT Government, Station Director, All India Radio, State/UT Government, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India, Representative of Indian Olympic Association, Two prominent Sports Persons from UT will be the Members of the EC.
While Deputy Commissioner, District Leh, Superintendent of Police District Leh, Joint Director, Youth Servies and Sports, Ladakh will be Member Secretary of the EC.
Terms of Reference of the Committee are as under: The EC will be responsible for smooth conduct of the Games and will supervise and monitor different activities of Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG), 2024.
The EC shall exist to bring about the overall coordination among various implementing agencies and discharge responsibilities under overall guidance of the OC (organizing-cum-coordination committee).
Supervise and provide oversight to the infrastructure development of the KIWG 2024 venues.
Monitor progress of projects related to Khelo India Winter Games 2024 in the field and review the work of the implementing agencies.
EC will apprise all decisions to the OC from time to time and raise all issues and concerns that may need attention of the OC. EC will issue guidance, support to the games Secretariat for smooth management of the programme, and meeting of the EC will be held at least once in every month.
