“Entrepreneurship Awareness Program” held in Leh

Leh, Sep 29: Directorate of Industries and Commerce (DIC), Ladakh torganized a day long Entrepreneurship Awareness program for the students of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) and ITI.
The program was designed to give the students an insight into the enormous scope in entrepreneurship. Discussions were held on financial assistance schemes by GoI such as Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) made available by the DIC and other handholding programs.
Joint Director, Handloom and Handicraft Department, Lakshay Singhal was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Singhal spoke of the importance of understanding the concept of multiplication of funds for becoming a successful entrepreneur. He urged the aspirants to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the government in terms of skill development programs and financial assistance schemes.

Saheel Alaqband IEDS, Assistant Director MSME DFO J&K, was the resource person of the program. H spoke about the role of the Ministry of MSME in boosting entrepreneurship and stated that Ladakh has an array of resources for setting up successful entrepreneurial ventures. Sighting the example of Pashmina, apricots etc, he stressed on the importance of skilling oneself to be able to become successful. He also interacted with the students and addressed their queries pertaining MSME innovative schemes.
Woodcarver Padma Tashi on the occasion shared his success story with the students and highlighted the importance of market survey prior to establishing a successful venture.
Manager, State Bank of India Tashi Angchuk encouraged the students to avail the financial support schemes for entrepreneurs/start Ups and asserted that the bank is commitment to endorse a lucrative project plan.
