EJM Zoology students visit poultry, animal farming at DIHAR

Leh: The Department of Zoology, Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh under the banner of G20 organised a visit to poultry and animal farming at DIHAR, Leh.

A total of 40 students of 6th semester visited the centre coordinated by faculty member & Assistant Professor, Zoology, Dr. Nasima Bano.

The purpose of the visit was to provide exposure to the students and to provide practical knowledge of breeds of chicken and cattle.

Students also witnessed variety of goats, breeds of chicken: Kadaknath which originated in Madhya Pradesh and is known for its rich nutritious value and is less common in Ladakh.

The students also got practical exposure to the techniques of egg-hatching and observed varieties of cattle such as Jersey and Ladakhi local cattle.

This kind of visit would benefit and motivate the students to pursue research in their stream.
