Leh: Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Punchok Tashi, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.
EC Punchok Tashi raised several issues related to the development of Zanskar sub-division, viz. granting district status to Zanskar, removal of illegal encroachment and putting a fence on the land for the proposed airport in Zanskar, sanctioning of the post of an Executive Engineer, R&B Division, Public Works Department (PWD) along with other staff for Zanskar, filling up the vacant posts of Block Development Officers of BDO Cha and Karsha, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Tourism Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO) in Zanskar, etc. He also raised the need for staff quarters for the hospital staff and the upgradation of the operation theatre at the Government Hospital in Padum.
EC Punchok requested for intervention in the early redressal of the dispute over the Ufti-Pipiting Thang area so that the ongoing development works and projects are not affected. He briefed about the ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission work in Zanskar sub-division, the preparatory work for the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Zanskar, etc.
