EC Mehdi reviews preparations for celebration of Balti Spangang Festival

Leh: With the theme ‘Uniting Baltis – Preserving Balti Culture’, LAHDC Leh is all set to celebrate the unique culture and traditions of Balti Community with the Balti Spangang Festival which will be held in Nubra region this month.

Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor convened a meeting Wednesday with representatives and officers of Cultural Academy, Leh to review preparations for the celebration of the Balti Spangang Festival.

The festival is aimed at enhancing mutual socio-cultural relationships among the communities and understanding the challenges and opportunities through conversations and entertainment making it a socio-cultural festival with majorly people’s participation.

People from different villages of Ladakh will gather to collectively celebrate the festival where there will be major attractions including literary, and cultural activities along with exhibitions of local products and cuisines.

EC Mehdi advised all the attendees at the meeting including Dy Secretary, LAACL Leh to ensure smooth arrangements for the celebration of Balti Spangang Festival this year.
