EC distributes CCTV cameras, TV sets among monasteries in Zanskar
Zanskar: Executive Councillor Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affairs, Er Punchok Tashi distributed CCTV cameras and TV sets among all the monasteries of Zanskar.
The event was held in presence of Ven Lama Urgain, President All Zanskar Gonpa Association and Head Lama of All the Monasteries of Zanskar at Tourist Bungalow Padum the previous day.
The Head Lama of all the monasteries as well as President Gonpa Association expressed gratitude to the Executive Councilor.
Later, EC Tashi visited Haftal Hydel Project at Sani Zanskar and inspected the ongoing upgradation work. It was found that both the units of 500 KW at Haftal MHP were under reinstallation position and the work has delayed due to the non-responsive attitude of the agency namely M/S Jyoti Power that has got the tender of work in 2022.
The Executive Councilor expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in completion of the work as it has debarred the consumers from power supply during the daytime.
The matter was taken up with Secretary Power UT Ladakh and all the concerned to expedite the work so that power during day time could be restored in Zanskar as the same Hydropower is the only source of hydropower that supply power to central Zanskar.
