Leh: Dy Chairman Tsering Angchuk convened a meeting regarding the installation of a signboard at every village of Leh District at his office Chamber, Council Secretariat Leh.
During the meeting, experts apprised the Dy Chairman regarding the installation of a signboard and also propose the revival of village ancient names.
A detailed discussion also took place on the issues raised by the experts that the old names of some of the villages have lost their original meaning due to mispronunciation. Thr experts also propose to revive its ancient name with a brief history.
Dy chairman directed the concerned department to initiate the process as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by EC (art & Culture) Leh; Dy. Secretary, Cultural Academy, Leh; representatives from HDFC Bank, Leh, and expert committee.
