Leh, Feb 4: District Programme Officer (ICDS) Leh, A.G. Zargar, JKAS, on Wednesday chaired a review meeting at the Conference Hall, ACD Office, Leh, to assess preparation of the Annual Programme Implementation Plan (APIP), Convergence Action Plan, expansion of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), and expenditure under various ICDS schemes.
The meeting deliberated on issues related to defunct Anganwadi Centres and relocation of centres with no beneficiaries. Stressing the need for rationalisation, the DPO directed officials to justify relocations based on population strength and availability of beneficiaries, while also emphasising filling of vacancies and identification of new beneficiaries across ICDS centres in Leh district.
Zargar informed that he would personally participate in interaction sessions with villagers to discuss new admissions, relocation proposals and issues related to defunct centres.
A comprehensive review of ongoing ICDS projects and future plans was also conducted. Officers were directed to prepare proposal-based action plans along with Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to support the Convergence Action Plan. It was further informed that a review meeting with concerned engineers would be convened after submission of reports and DPRs.
The meeting was attended by Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) of ICDS Leh, Nubra, Khaltsi, Nyoma, Kharu and Durbuk, along with supervisors of ICDS projects in Leh district and officials from the DPO Office, including Gulzar Hussain (Senior Assistant), Sonam Yangdol (Junior Assistant), Tashi Raftan (District Coordinator) and Nilza Angmo (Project Assistant).
