Leh: Under the ongoing scheme of awareness programmes as per the calendar of activities for the year 2025, DLSA Leh organized an awareness programme on Pre-Institution Mediation and settlement at District Court Complex Leh on 26/04/2025.
The said awareness programme was organized in the form of role play which was conducted by two teams headed by Adv. Gonbo Stobgyal and Adv. Sonam Palzes (both trained mediators) comprising of 5 Advocates in each team.
Present on the occasion were Phuntsog Angmo Secretary DLSA Leh, Adv. Mohd Shafi President Bar Association Leh, Executive members and members of Bar Association Leh, Legal Aid Defense Counsels, Panel Lawyers, PLVs and Court staff.
On the occasion welcome speech was presented by Phuntsog Angmo Secretary DLSA Leh and she impressed upon the need for mediation in today’s time.
During the role play two hypothetical cases, one pertaining to maintenance u/s 144 BNSS and one civil dispute was dealt with and it was shown how mediation is conducted.
Further the dos and don’ts of mediation and various stages of mediation were taken up and a practical example of the same was given in the form of skit/play.
The vote of thanks was presented by Adv. Mohd Shafi President Bar Association Leh who appreciated the efforts of DLSA in spreading legal awareness on various topics.
The participants were facilitated by the presentation of Khatags as a token of appreciation.
