District Police Authorizes SHOs, I/C Police Posts to Issue Character Certificates

Leh: In a positive move aimed at enhancing convenience for the residents of Leh district, the District Police Leh has announced the authorization of Station House Officers (SHOs) and In-Charge (I/C) Police Posts to issue Police Character Certificates, effective immediately, except Passport, Service, and Vigilance Clearances.

Previously, the issuance of Police Character Certificates used to be issued by SSP Office Leh. However, recognizing the challenges faced by the general public in obtaining these essential documents, SSP Leh has taken proactive measures to decentralize the process.

This recent order from SSP Leh reflects the district police’s commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of the community. By empowering SHOs and I/C Police Posts to issue Police Character Certificates, the District Police Leh aims to streamline the application process and expedite the issuance of these certificates.

By delegating the authority to SHOs and I/C Police Posts, we hope to alleviate the inconvenience being faced by residents of Leh district and facilitate a smoother application process.

Residents of Leh district are encouraged to utilize this new process for obtaining Police Character Certificates. The District Police Leh assure the public of our continued commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to the community.
