Disaster Management Leh issues traffic advisory amid frequent avalanches

Leh: District Disaster Management Authority here Monday issued traffic advisory and helpline number for emergency purposes amid closing down vehicular traffic in Khardongla and Changla passes.

The traffic movement is being barred amid light snow and avalanches at Khardongla and Changla passes.

Vehicular traffic from both sides both of Khardongla and Changla passes will be closed after 04:00pm till further orders.

“Office of the District Disaster Management Authority, Leh issues advisory that both Khardongla and Changla will be closed after 04:00pm for vehicular traffic from both sides till further order,” the advisory read.

In case of any emergency, the public is advised to contact control rooms for help on the following numbers:

Traffic Control Unit, Leh : 8082863919)

The commuters are advised to undertake their journey during the prescribed timings and only after confirming the status of the road from Police Control Room, Leh and Traffic Police Ladakh.
