Leh The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh observed National Population Day at Government Primary School, Skara Yokma, under the guidelines of the NCERT National Population Education Cell.
This year’s theme — “Empowering Young People to Create the Families They Want in a Fair and Hopeful World” and “Grassroots Empowerment and Community Health” — focused on promoting awareness about population-related issues and encouraging community-driven solutions.
The event aimed to sensitize parents, teachers, and students about the importance of population education, family planning, and making informed choices for a healthier and more sustainable future.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Tsering Yangdol, Head of Department at DIET Leh and the Population Education Nodal Officer, highlighted the significance of observing National Population Day and its role in shaping a responsible and informed younger generation.
To encourage reduced screen time at home, DIET Leh distributed fruits and stationery items to the students as part of its outreach initiative.
The event concluded on a positive and educational note, with strong participation from both school staff and the community.
