Leh, December 10: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh organised Folk Dance and Role Play competitions under the National Population Education Programme, bringing together students from multiple government schools to encourage creativity, cultural expression and awareness on social and population-related themes.
Students participated enthusiastically, reflecting DIET Leh’s focus on holistic and value-based education.
In the Folk Dance Competition, the winners were:
• 1st: High School Yourgo
• 2nd: High School Hemis Shukpachan
• 3rd: High School Chumathang
• 4th: Higher Secondary School Silmo
In the Role Play Competition, the results were:
• 1st: Government Girls Higher Secondary School GM Pore
• 2nd: Higher Secondary School Trespong
• 3rd: PM Shri School Chuchot Yokma
Principal DIET Leh, Mirza Mehdi, praised the dedicated efforts of teachers and the spirited participation of students. He said such programmes deepen students’ understanding of social issues while enhancing confidence, creativity and communication skills.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and words of appreciation for all participating schools. DIET Leh congratulated the winners and thanked students and teachers for making the programme a success.
