Kargil: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission Shakti), Department of Social & Tribal Welfare, Kargil inaugurated a three-month Computer Certificate Course for specially-abled girls at NIELIT Kargil Monday.
The initiative is part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
The event was attended by CDPO Kargil Parveen Akhtar, CDPO Shargole Farida Banoo, Administrative Incharge, NIELIT, Kargil, Person Mehboob Ali, Gender Specialist Aamina Banoo, District Mission Coordinator Niyaz Hussain, Financial Specialist Mansoor Hussain along with specially-abled children and their parents.
To ensure accessibility, Mission Shakti Kargil has arranged transportation facilities for the participants, providing pick-up and drop services from their homes.
The enrolled children include those with locomotive disabilities, cerebral palsy, speech and hearing impairments, low vision, and intellectual disabilities.
Speaking at the inauguration, CDPO Kargil Parveen Akhtar urged the students to approach the course with dedication and sincerity. CDPO Shargole Farida Banoo emphasized that the program offers a valuable opportunity for skill development among specially-abled children.
The classes will be conducted six days a week after school hours to accommodate the participants’ schedules.
