Drass, July 4: Director General of Police, UT Ladakh, Anand Jain on Friday paid his maiden official visit to the newly created district of Drass, where he reviewed policing, inspected infrastructure and directed officers to intensify efforts against narcotics trafficking and cybercrime.
During his visit to Police Station Drass, the DGP conducted a detailed review of the crime scenario, examined crime records and assessed investigation standards. He directed officers to strengthen crime record management, improve the quality of investigations and enhance the overall functioning of the police station.
The DGP also inspected the newly established District Police Office, reviewed the functioning of various branches and assessed administrative and operational arrangements, including the progress of the under-construction Police Station building. He stressed the need for timely completion of the ongoing infrastructure works.
Addressing a Police Darbar, Anand Jain assured police personnel that their genuine grievances would be addressed promptly. He appreciated the force for its dedication and professionalism while urging all ranks to maintain the highest standards of discipline, integrity and public service.
Emphasising citizen-centric policing, the DGP directed officers to adopt a more people-friendly approach, strengthen public trust through responsive policing and intensify preventive and investigative measures against crime.
He also called for focused action against the growing challenges of narcotics trafficking and cybercrime, stressing intelligence-led operations, effective investigations and greater public awareness to tackle emerging security threats.
The DGP was accompanied by senior district police officers, including the Superintendent of Police, Drass, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security), Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) and the Station House Officer of Police Station Drass.
