Leh: A delegation comprising Veer Nari and war heroes from Ladakh called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (DR) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas. Director, Rajya Sainik Board Ladakh, Col (Retd) Lobzang Nima was also present.
President, Honorary Captain Sonam Murup, informed HLG about the War Hero Colony in Leh and requested for an extension of the lease period of the land. He highlighted the issue of the absence of basic amenities and requested for HLG’s intervention in blacktopping the internal roads within the War Hero Colony and the provision of proper drinking water and sewerage facilities. He requested for proper fencing of the vacant land at the War Colony to stop encroachments.
Hon Captain Sonam Murup also requested for the installation of streetlights for safety, the installation of an entrance gate at the War Hero Colony and the construction of an elderly and children park for the Veer Nari and their children.
HLG assured to look into the matter.
A delegation comprising members of the Special Frontier Force (SFF) Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Ladakh led by Naib Subedar (Retd) Tsultrim Gyatso called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
Shri Tsultrim informed HLG that they took part in several operations for the safety of the nation from enemy forces. He informed that the SFF Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association was formed in 1992 and currently has around 400 members. He also informed about the lack of financial support and raised the need for an office and meeting hall for the smooth operation of the Association. Shri Tsultrim informed that they are currently functioning from a rented accommodation.
HLG assured to look into the matter.
