Leh: A delegation comprising representatives of Class 4 employees of Leh and Kargil districts called on the Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lt Governor’s Secretariat.
The Delegation requested LG to revise the grade pay of SL-1 employees from 1300 Grade Pay to 1800 Grade Pay as per the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission.
Director Finance, Dr. Safdar Ali, IRS; Under Secretary, GAD, Mohd Taqi, JKAS and representatives of the class 4 employees were present during the meeting.
The delegation stated that they have been receiving salary in pay level of SL1 which is as per the standard of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state, which is not in line with the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission.
The delegation sought the LG’s intervention in revising the grade pay of Class IV employees as per the 7th Pay Commission as done by the Union Territory of Chandigarh in 2023.
Furthermore, the delegation also raised the issues regarding the increment and seniority issue of Class 4 employees owing to their appointment under SRO-202 of J&K State.
The LG asked Director Finance to examine the feasibility of adopting 7th Pay Commission standards and the recurring costs involved in the exercise.
The LG assured the delegation that their grievances regarding the pay anomalies would be examined in the upcoming meeting with the Departmental Secretaries.
