Leh: A delegation from Turtuk village led by Sanaullah and Abdul Karim called on the LG at LG Secretariat. Deputy Commissioner, Leh Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS was also present in the meeting.

They apprised the LG that about 17 kanals of land were allocated to the Indian Army during the Siachen War in Tutuk village and informed that the land is not currently in use by the army.

They requested the LG to re-allocate the land to the villagers. Deputy Commissioner Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS briefed about the land issue.

The LG instructed the Defence Estates Officer to discuss the matter with the higher army authorities.

A delegation from Urbis village led by Nambardar of the village Mipham Namgyal called on the LG at LG Secretariat. Chief Engineer, PWD, Ladakh Abdul Mutalib and Executive Engineer, PHE, Leh Mohd Ali were present in the meeting.

Namyal apprised the LG about several issues, viz. lack of water supply in Urbis village during the winter, slippery road conditions in the village, compensation for land and trees affected by road construction and repair of the old monastery at Urbis village.

The LG directed the Executive Engineer, PHE, Leh Mohd Ali to visit the village and address the issue of water supply for the villagers during the winter season. The LG Chief Engineer, PWD, Ladakh to resolve a slippery road condition of the village.

A delegation from Ex-servicemen Society Chuchot Shamma led by its President Tsering Angchuk called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.

Angchuk apprised the LG about the society which conducted a winter tuition for the children and also organised an awareness camp for motivation of youths. He informed that the society has about 10 kanals of land and constructed a multipurpose community.

They requested the LG for provision of solar submersible borewell pump, tiling of the ground and provision of the kitchen and washroom utensils.

The LG directed DC Leh to provide solar panel for operating submersible pump, a washroom and interlocking tiling up to 6-8 feet around the building that they are constructing. The LG asked Angchuk to progress their matters / issues through the Rajya Sanik Board.
