Leh: A delegation from Drikung Kagyud Sang Nag Chosling, Bodh Kharbu, comprising President, Go Green Committee, Ven Konchok Norbu; Vice-President, Go Green Committee, Ven Konchok Norgyas and Secretary, Go Green Committee, Tsering Smanlha, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.
The delegation briefed about the plantation drive to be conducted in Bodh Kharbu during the 12th phase of the Go Green Go Organic initiative on June 20 this year.
They apprised that His Holiness Skyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche and the people of the village would plant around three lakh plant saplings, including one lakh willow trees, one lakh sea buckthorn saplings, ten thousand poplar trees, six thousand siya and juniper tree saplings and fifty thousand fruits of different varieties in an area spread over one thousand Kanal of land in Bodh Kharbu village on the said date.
They requested for LG Mathur’s presence on the said date for the mass plantation drive.
