DDMA, NDRF conduct comprehensive mock drill exercise at Leh

LEH: District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Leh, in collaboration with the 13 Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Union Territory Disaster Response Force (UTDRF), conducted a comprehensive mock drill exercise aimed at enhancing preparedness for earthquake and landslide disasters on Saturday.

Under the expert guidance of DC/Chairman, DDMA Leh, and ADC/CEO, DDMA Leh, along with the participation of Assistant Commandant from NDRF, Deputy Superintendent of Police from UTDRF, Principal TCV, school staff, and enthusiastic students, the mock drill was executed seamlessly.

The NDRF taskforce showcased their expertise by performing a series of rescue operations during the drill. Furthermore, the UTDRF demonstrated rescue equipment and machinery to ensure efficient response to disasters.

One of the highlights of the session was the hands-on CPR practice session provided to the students, equipping them with life-saving skills in emergency situations.

During the debriefing session, the Camp In-Charge shared insights into the best and worst practices observed throughout the mock drill. Valuable suggestions and feedback were exchanged to improve disaster response mechanisms, aiming for minimal loss of time and resources during actual emergencies.

This joint effort between government authorities, first responders, educational institutions, and students underscores the commitment of the Leh district in ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents in the face of potential natural disasters.
