Kargil, October 13, 2025: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kargil, in collaboration with the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU) of Ladakh Police, Kargil, and the District Labor Department, Kargil, conducted a joint inspection at the Industrial Area of the district to curb child labor and begging.
The inspection team, comprising Social Worker Mohammad Ibrahim and Outreach Worker, DCPU, Kargil, along with ASI Mohammad Hassan, SJPU, Ladakh Police, and Fayaz Hussain, Senior Assistant, Labor Department, Kargil, aimed to identify and rescue children involved in child labor and begging.
The officials urged industry owners, shopkeepers, restaurant owners, and the general public to join hands in making Kargil a child labor-free and child begging-free district. They emphasized the importance of reporting any instances of child labor and begging to the authorities.
