Leh: District Congress Committee celebrated Constitution Day at DCC office in Leh in the presence of DCC President Rigzin Namgail, Women President, Advocate Deachen Angmo, LTCC Youth President Smanla Dorjay (Councilor Saspol ), DCC Youth President Tundup Norbo ( Councilor Phayang ), Gen Sec. Advocate Tamchos Gurmit, Advocate Dorjay Gyalson and various party members.
During the program, the speakers throw light on the importance of the Constitution and how it empowers every citizens of India to live a dignified and rightful life. They said if the citizens know their rights then they can never be exploited or oppressed, therefore we must never forget our constitutional and democratic values.
The councillors further reminded that during the 70 years of Congress regime the party never undermined our constitution values and always strived to empower the respective citizens with it.
At the end of the meeting all members on behalf of entire party rank and file congratulated LAHDC, Kargil for passing a historic resolution for the genuine needs/demands of the people of Ladakh, especially our unitedly genuine demand on Constitutional safeguards under sixth schedule of the Indian Constitution.
