Khaltsi, June 19: Deputy Commissioner Sham Kunzes Angmo conducted a surprise inspection of educational and healthcare institutions in Timisgam and Nurla villages to assess infrastructure, service delivery, and ongoing development works.
Accompanied by officials from the Health, Education, and Public Works Departments, the Deputy Commissioner visited Government Higher Secondary School, Timisgam, where she reviewed the construction progress of boys’ and girls’ hostels as well as the Examination Hall-cum-Multipurpose Hall. She interacted with students and staff, stressing the need to boost enrolment and strengthen mentorship initiatives.
The DC also inspected the Primary Health Centre, Timisgam, the public library, and ongoing monastery/palace compound wall construction works. At Ladakh Model School, Timisgam, school authorities highlighted concerns related to Wi-Fi connectivity, drinking water availability, and road infrastructure.
Further inspections were carried out at the Medical Sub-Centre, Nurla, Middle School Nurla, and Anganwadi Centres in both villages to assess facilities and service delivery.
Assuring prompt action, the Deputy Commissioner stated that all issues raised during the visit would be taken up with the concerned departments for necessary intervention and resolution.
