Kargil, February 26: The Deputy Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the District Capex Budget 2025–26 at the Conference Hall, Baroo, to assess sector-wise expenditure and progress of works.
The meeting focused on evaluating ongoing and newly sanctioned projects across departments to ensure timely utilisation of funds and accurate financial reporting before the close of the financial year.
Stressing fiscal discipline and transparency, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to immediately reconcile their expenditure data with Treasury authorities and update financial records without delay. He underscored the importance of close coordination between executing agencies and financial wings to maintain updated and precise expenditure figures.
Rakesh Kumar further instructed that any unspent or non-committed funds, where expenditure cannot be incurred within the stipulated timeframe, must be surrendered by February 27 to facilitate consolidation of accurate financial figures for the 2025–26 fiscal closure.
He highlighted that precise financial reporting is critical for effective planning and formulation of the District Capex Budget for 2026–27. The DC also asked all Heads of Departments to expedite submission of pending requisitions, especially for projects nearing completion where expenditure can still be booked within the current financial year.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Finance; Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of R&B and PHE divisions of Kargil and Sankoo; Executive Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control; Divisional Forest Officer; Block Development Officers; Accounts Officers and other district and sectoral officers.
