
DC Santosh aims at bolstering local development
LEH: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, undertook a three-day visit to Nyoma sub-division, aimed at bolstering local development Friday.
He convened public meetings at various locations, including Chumathang, Hanley, Demjok, and Kuyul, engaging with the community to address their concerns.
During the visit, DC Leh inspected the Health and Wellness Centre in Demjok, assessed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission, and held a meeting with the concerned army officer. He also interacted with the ITBP officials at Dungti to exchange insights.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with nomadic families and visited their tents (Rebo) thereby fostering a direct connection with local traditions and livelihoods.
Highlighting the region’s strategic importance, it was informed that the main focus of UT administration, District Administration, and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh is on border development. Their shared objective is to curtail migration towards urban areas, ensuring zero migration.
People demanded to streamline and upgrade the existing communication infrastructure, including mobile connectivity. Also, they demanded to upgrade the existing road network.
Furthermore, he meticulously assessed ongoing initiatives within the vibrant village program, reaffirming the dedication to comprehensive local progress.
