Nubra, June 17: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of key infrastructure projects at Government Degree College (GDC) Nubra, directing executing agencies to accelerate construction works and ensure timely completion ahead of the upcoming academic session.
During an inspection visit to the college campus, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the status of ongoing works, including the construction of new academic blocks, the college auditorium and hostel facilities. He took stock of the pace of execution and reviewed the readiness of supporting infrastructure required for the functioning of the new facilities.
Emphasizing the importance of completing the projects within the stipulated timeline, Mukul Beniwal instructed the concerned agencies to expedite the remaining works and avoid any delays that could affect academic activities.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need to ensure that all essential services, including water supply, electricity and plumbing systems, are made fully operational alongside the completion of civil works.
Highlighting the significance of quality infrastructure in higher education, he said that improved academic and residential facilities would encourage more students to seek admission at Government Degree College Nubra and contribute to strengthening the educational landscape of the region.
He directed the concerned authorities to prioritize pending tasks and maintain close coordination to ensure that students can benefit from the enhanced infrastructure at the earliest.
The inspection was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nubra, Shri Jigmet Raftan, JKAS, Executive Engineer PWD Shri Lobzang Yontan, and other concerned officials.
