Nubra, June 17: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS, on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection of Government Higher Secondary School Diskit to assess academic activities, attendance records and the overall teaching-learning environment in the institution.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the attendance registers of both staff and students and sought details regarding cases of frequent absenteeism. He also examined attendance patterns to identify any irregularities and ensure accountability within the institution.
Interacting with students of Classes 10th, 11th and 12th, the DC enquired about the progress of the syllabus and evaluated their understanding of various subjects. He engaged students in discussions and posed subject-related questions, assessing their conceptual clarity through practical examples and interactive exchanges.
Reviewing classroom teaching practices, Mukul Beniwal directed teachers to place greater emphasis on strengthening students’ conceptual understanding rather than relying solely on rote learning. He also stressed the effective utilization of remedial classes for revision, doubt clearance and regular assessment of students through continuous questioning and interaction.
Addressing the students, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged them to learn collectively and support one another in academics. He highlighted the importance of collaborative learning, stating that peer support can significantly improve understanding of concepts and enhance examination performance.
The DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving educational standards and ensuring quality learning outcomes in government schools across the district.
The inspection was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nubra, Shri Jigmet Raftan, JKAS.
