Leh, November 4, 2025:
Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), chaired a meeting to review the status of telecom connectivity across Leh district and directed telecom operators to expedite measures to improve network coverage.
During the review meeting, DC Donk sought detailed updates from service providers on pending tower installations, unresolved technical issues, and the progress of submitted proposals aimed at strengthening communication infrastructure.
He instructed officers to prepare a village-wise report identifying connectivity gaps, available service providers, and the stage of work completion, to be submitted by 2:00 PM today. The DC also said that Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) will be engaged to coordinate corrective measures once reports are received.
A follow-up meeting will be held within the next five to six days to assess progress.
The meeting was attended by ADC Ghulam Mohd (JKAS), ADDC Sonam Nurboo (JKAS), Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson, ACR Shabir Hussain, and representatives from BSNL, Airtel, and Jio.
