Leh: Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, conducted an extensive review of the ongoing preparations at Jivetsal, Choglamsar, ahead of the upcoming visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Emphasising the importance of smooth and efficient management during the visit, he urged close coordination among all departments to ensure timely execution of essential works.
DC Donk was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohd (JKAS) and Senior Superintendent of Police Shruti Arora (IPS) during the inspection on July 10.
The DC inspected the residence of His Holiness as well as the main teaching area. He reviewed the progress of various preparations, including public sanitation facilities, installation of CCTV cameras, and other security arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of devotees and visitors.
He also examined multiple parking sites in the area to assess space availability and suggested improvements for better organisation and traffic management during the teachings.
Highlighting the administration’s commitment to creating safe, clean, and well-managed public spaces, DC Donk directed concerned officials to maintain strict timelines and deliver all necessary infrastructure and services efficiently.
He reiterated that seamless coordination between departments will be key to ensuring that all arrangements are executed smoothly, without disruptions, during the spiritual visit.
Heads of concerned departments, senior officials, and the President of LBA Youth Wing were also present during the inspection.
