Leh, Dec 9: Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk, chaired a comprehensive review meeting on Monday to assess progress on multiple Army land–related matters across the district. The session aimed at strengthening coordination between civil and defence authorities and expediting long-pending cases.
The DC reviewed updates on requisitioned, private, and state land, including parcels currently under defence use. Discussions centred on verification of revenue records, procedural clearances, re-verification, mutation, and alignment of land documents.
Broader issues such as phased land transfer proposals, category verification, and matters linked to historical and strategically important locations were also deliberated. The meeting examined cases requiring inter-agency NOCs and compliance with guidelines near defence establishments, stressing the need for accurate and updated documentation.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Leh Sonam Nurboo, ACR Leh Shabir Hussain, Defence Estates Officer Leh, SDMs, Staff Officers (Land) from HQ 14 Corps and 72 Sub Area, and the Tehsildar Leh. Officials posted outside the district joined virtually.
DC Donk directed departments to update land records immediately, fast-track pending cases, and maintain seamless communication with defence authorities. He added that the next review meeting on Army land matters would be convened soon.
