DC Kargil Santosh Sukhdeve launches Sarhad Kargil International Marathon-2023 website
Kargil: Deputy Commissioner Kargil Santosh Sukhdeve Tuesday launched Sarhad Kargil International Marathon 2023 (SKIM 2023) Website at Pune.
The 6th Edition of Sarhad Kargil International Marathon 2023 will be organised by Sarhad Pune at Kargil town in association with Ladakh Autonomous Hills Development Council (LAHDC).
Local Administration, Kargil and Ladakh Police will conduct this mega event of this region for 6th time at Kargil town on Sunday, 17th September, 2023 early in the morning.
Also, local organizations from Kargil and from Pune are extending full support to this event.
District Collector while launching this website said that this year also support from local government and LAHDC will be provided for this event.
Sanjay Nahar Founder President, Sarhad, Dr. Shailesh Pagariya- Organizer (SKIM), Adv. Abhay Chhajed, Vasant Gokhale – Race Director, Sumant Waikar – Technical Director, Yuvraj Shah, Anuj Nahar, Dr. Amol Develkar, Vaibhav Wagh were present in the function.
Also, advisory support for Technical & Organizational conduction will be provided by Pune International Marathon Trust, Pune and digitally and other support will be made available by ARHM, educational institute, Pune.
Start point of SKIM 2023 Full Marathon and other road races Competitions will be from “Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Baroo, Kargil and the races will go towards Saliskot Village (21.1 km) through famous Suru Valley road and return back the same route at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium.
Last year in 2022, this international marathon route road has been measured and certified for next 5 years (up to year 2026) by representative of AIMs along with Technical committee members of SKIM.
Sanjay Nahar, Founder President of Sarhad, Pune in this inauguration program of website of SKIM 2023 informed that total cash prizes of Rs.8 lakhs (INR 8 Lakhs ) will be given/awarded for the winners of all 12 groups of Men and Women, Boys and Girls ( Under 16 & 18 years ) of this event by the Organizing Committee.
Following groups are in SKIM 2023, Full Marathon for M & W ( 42.195 km ), Half Marathon for M & W (21.0975 km), 10K & 5K for Men and Women.
Also from this year O.C. has introduced 4 more groups for School going Boys & Girls ( under 16 yrs.) and youngsters Student from Jr. & Sr. College ( under 18yrs.).
Each participant will get T shirt, Finisher’s medal after successful completion of the race, medical and all other route support will be made available.
The registration of online entries for above events will be started from 1st March, 2023 onwards.
