Drass, May 12: Imteeaz Kacho on Tuesday conducted a series of inspections across Drass to review developmental works, sports infrastructure, healthcare facilities, and preparations for the upcoming visit of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee.
The Deputy Commissioner first visited the Indoor Stadium of the Youth Services & Sports Department at Ranbirpur, where he was received by the Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Drass and staff members.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the available infrastructure and assessed facilities being provided to sportspersons, students, and sports enthusiasts. He directed the concerned departments to expedite pending works and instructed the ZPEO to organise sports tournaments regularly in Drass while ensuring uninterrupted access to the Indoor Stadium for players.
Emphasising better amenities, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for proper drinking water facilities, electricity fittings, and regular maintenance within the stadium premises for the convenience of players and visitors.
Later, Imteeaz Kacho visited the under-construction Guest House being executed by the R&B Department and inspected rooms and other facilities at the site. He underlined the importance of proper road connectivity, electricity supply, and water facilities for the project.
The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vishal Atri and other concerned officials, also inspected the Trauma Centre at the Sub-District Hospital to review its functioning and ongoing works.
Subsequently, he reviewed arrangements for the forthcoming visit of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee to Drass in coordination with Ishtyaq Kacho and SDM Vishal Atri.
