
Day-long literary program Yaad-e-Moheb held at Kargil
KARGIL: Ladakh Academy of Art and Languages (LAACL) Kargil in collaboration with the Association of Baltis in Himalayas (ABH) organized a day-long seminar, poetic symposium titled Yaad-e-Moheb at Conference Hall Kargil here Tuesday.
ADC Kargil Ghulam Mohuddin was the chief guest, while former Commissioner Secretary Revenue and prominent Urdu/Balti/Purgi poet Kacho Asfandyar Khan Faridoon was the guest of honor besides Joint Director Information UT Ladakh Imteeaz Kacho and Madame Kaneez Fatima Director Ladakh University Kargil Campus was the Special Guest on the occasion.
Kacho Asfandyar Khan appreciated LAACL Kargil and ABH for organizing a unique and productive programme.
Talking about the contribution of Raja Hussain Ali Khan Moheb (Aneese Baltistan) in the field of Marsiya and Noha he said his contribution is immense and incomparable.
Kacho added his famous book Dastan-e-Karbala was inspired from the work of Moheb and his poems on the tragedy of Karbala.
Imteeaz Kacho addressing the ocassion said that the programme has given an insight for him about the works of famous Scholars of the society and will become a platform for the future generations to get inspired to work in the field of literature and history.
Meanwhile, prominent scholars, writers and poets delivered their poems, papers and speeches on Moheb and his extraordinary contribution to Balti literature.
Recounting the extraordinary contribution of Raja Hussain Ali Khan Moheb in the field of literature, around 20 poets and writers presented their papers and poetic renderings.
Scholars presented their papers on topics include Future of Balti Language & Litriture in Utrakhand by Syed Memood Ali Shah, Bawa Qurban Ali and Other Literary Personalities of Nubra by Fazil Abass Turtuk, Balti Literature by Akhtar Hussain Zubdavi, Multilingual Literary Personalities of Kargil and their services by Mohd Sadiq Hardassi and Fan e Marsiya Goyeewa Balti Shora by Kacho Asfandiyar Khan Faridoon.
Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary, LAACL Kargil delivered the welcome Speech and President ABH Bashir Ahmad Wafa delivered the vote of thanks.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by noted Balti poet and broadcaster Sibte Hassan Kaleem & General Secretary ABH Ashraf Ali Sagar.
Among others who were present on the occasion included writers, poets, district officers and a good number of literary enthusiasts from Utrakhand, Kashmir, Turtuk, Leh and Kargil.
