COTPA-2003: Over 10K fine realised from violators

LEH: As a part of Tobacco control effort in Leh town and to ensure Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (COTPA) 2003 compliance, an enforcement drive was carried out by the Enforcement squad in Leh city on October 25.

A sum amounting to Rs.12,800/- was realised as fine from violators of Section 6b and Section 4 of COTPA.

It is also being notified to shopkeepers that selling tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions is a punishable offense under section 6 of COTPA.
