Congress Councillor Syed Mohammad Shah quits Politics

LEH: Sitting Congress Councillor from Bhimbat Drass and Block President of the Indian National Congress, Syed Mohammad Shah has tendered his resignation from the party membership, as announced in a public notice today.

While he has not quoted the reason behind his decision which crucially comes at a time when the grand old party is grappling with the ouster of several party leaders ahead of the upcoming 5th LAHDC Elections, Shah said he would not engage with any political party henceforth and would abstain from joining any political organization throughout his lifetime.

In a conversation with a local media outlet, Shah cited his inability to fulfill the promises he had made to the public.

Additionally, he emphasized that his role as a religious figure is incongruent with his involvement in politics, prompting his resignation.
