Leh: Anti Leprosy Day was observed Monday at Community Health Center, Khaltse headed by Block Medical Officer, Khaltse, Dr. Chamba Laskit.
The objective of the campaign is the early detection of leprosy, preventive measures and to promote community participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Feroz Ahmad (Surgeon) shed light on the various facets of this disease.
He said that it is imperative to create awareness about this disease among the people so that misconceptions associated with it can be removed.
Also, a fortnight-long leprosy awareness campaign under the theme ‘Let’s fight Leprosy & make Leprosy a history’ was launched on January 30 and will continue till February 13, 2023.
Doctors and paramedical staff of Khaltse block were present.
