It’s encouraging to see the mass cleanliness drives across the UT of Ladakh, picking up pace with active involvement of government agencies and the support of the locals. The massive drive to remove dust, debris and garbage from the streets and public places, following my directions on 16.03.2026, are being successfully conducted across various Panchayats of District Kargil, including Chanigund, Nagma Kausar, Wakha, and Stongday. Similarly, major stretches around the Airport, Lok Niwas, Main Market and other popular tourist destinations in Leh, are also being cleaned in a mission mode. The efforts reflect a strong collective commitment towards environmental cleanliness and sustainability, aimed at positioning Ladakh as a clean and green tourist destination. The change is visible and is there for all to see.
