CEC visits Wanla, Lamayuru on Day-2 of his official tour

LEH: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson visited the villages of Wanla and Lamayuru, Government High School Wanla and the monasteries at Wanla and Lamayuru.

The CEC interacted with public delegations and listened to their grievances to understand their developmental needs.

During his visit, CEC Gyalson inaugurated a newly constructed Community Hall at Lamayuru village in the presence of Councillor Lamayuru, Dr. Morup Dorjey.

Representatives from the villages, including Sarpanches and Nambardars apprised CEC Gyalson of the grievances faced by the people and presented their demands. These majorly include the requirement for protection bunds for streams, restoration of irrigation canals, lift irrigation schemes, re-alignment of electricity transmission lines, improved road connectivity, issues regarding Jal Jeevan Mission, school infrastructure, etc.

The people of Wanla and Lamayuru villages acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the Hill Council, Leh, under the leadership of CEC Gyalson, as well as the area Councillor, in fulfilling their major demands and the developmental progress within the villages to date.

CEC Gyalson assured the villagers of his support in addressing their concerns at the earliest possible. He directed all concerned Departmental heads to actively engage and resolve the developmental issues and grievances in line with the requirements and aspirations of the locals.

During his visit to the Lamayuru monastery, CEC had a valuable audience with H.E. Rangdol Nyima Rinpoche. He further discussed major issues and grievances faced by the monks of Lamayuru and Wanla monasteries.

CEC Gyalson was accompanied by Councillor Lamayuru, Dr. Morup Dorjey, and all the Departmental Heads of the Khaltse sub-division, led by I/c SDM Tanveer Ahmed.
