CEC Tashi Leads Innovative ‘Sustainability through Dry Vegetables’ in Leh

Leh: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson presided over an event “Sustainability through Dry Vegetables” – an initiative of Women Wings of Religious Organisations in collaboration with Dragon Super Mart, Leh aimed to provide an exclusive platform for local farmers and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to sell dry exotic/local vegetables and herbs.

A display of varieties of homegrown vegetables and fruits was exhibited by the farmers during the occasion. The initiative has been majorly focused on reviving traditional drying methods of vegetables, sustainability through homegrown organics and providing the local farmer with good retail markets.

CEC Gyalson was accompanied by Dy Chairman Tsering Angchuk, EC Agriculture Stanzin Chosphel, EC Horticulture Ghulam Mehdi, Director DIHAR, OP Chaurasia, Associate Director SKUAST, Chief Agriculture Officer Leh, Head of all Religious Organisation’s Women Wing and numerous women farmers hailing from various villages of Leh and its adjacent areas.
