Leh: CEC Tashi Gyalson assured full support from LAHDC Leh to further strengthen the ongoing collaboration with the Jamtse Society, highlighting the Council’s commitment to improving public healthcare services across Ladakh.
He made these remarks during a meeting convened with medical professionals associated with the Jamtse Society, who are actively working on enhancing healthcare capabilities in the region.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hu from Jamtse Society, Taiwan; Dr. Tsetan Dorjey, physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama; Dr. Tenzin Tsundue, emergency physician at Delek Hospital, Dharamshala; Dr. Tsewang Tamdin, Amchi physician to His Holiness; and Director Health Tashi Thinles.
Discussions centered around the ongoing initiatives under which three doctors from Ladakh are sent annually to Taiwan for advanced medical training. The visiting team also shared future plans to expand the training programme, supply medical equipment, offer skill development sessions, and provide additional support to strengthen the healthcare system in Ladakh.
The collaboration has been active for several years, consistently supported by the Hill Council, and has significantly contributed to improving medical infrastructure and knowledge-sharing.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen cooperation and work jointly for the long-term benefit of healthcare delivery in Ladakh.
